Variation in Hydric Response of Two Industrial Hemp Varieties (Cannabis sativa) to Induced Water Stress

چکیده
Information on industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa) water use and stress is sparse. We studied impact in two essential-oil cultivars (‘Wife’ ‘Cherry’) prompted by anecdotal differences growth use. In a greenhouse setting, we measured relations, use, growth, essential oil (CBD-cannabidiol THC-delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol) concentrations. Water did not significantly affect THC CBD concentrations, but both responded to reducing transpiration through notably different mechanisms. ‘Cherry’ had more anisohydric behavior, maintaining high stomatal conductance (Gs) negative leaf potential until root zone depletion triggered partial afternoon closure moderate stress, resulting lower flower yield. By contrast, water-stressed ‘Wife’ rapidly defoliated half its area balance with less applied so maintained Gs yield par well-watered plants, suggesting for deficit irrigation conserve reduce post-harvest vegetation management. Differences translated provisionally suggested crop coefficients of 1 1.3–1.5 ‘Wife’, further research needed. Because genetically diverse, cultivar naming conventions are currently lax, germplasm screening needed determine the extent which either conservative or water-stress defoliation response found larger population cultivars.

Response of Two Indica Rice Varieties to Salt Stress
Salinity is one of the most challenging problems that adversely affects growth and development of plants. Therefore, understanding of the mechanisms that enable plants to adapt to salinity stress will ultimately help in the selection of stress tolerant cultivars for exploiting saline soils. The main objective of this study was to examine the effects of NaCl on some physiological and biochemic...

متن کاملCannabis sativa (Hemp) Seeds, Δ9-Tetrahydrocannabinol, and Potential Overdose
Introduction:Cannabis sativa (hemp) seeds are popular for their high nutrient content, and strict regulations are in place to limit the amount of potentially harmful phytocannabinoids, especially Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC). In Canada, this limit is 10 μg of Δ9-THC per gram of hemp seeds (10 ppm), and other jurisdictions in the world follow similar guidelines. Materials and Methods: We inv...

Countries, such as France, Spain. China. India. Korea and satellite nations of the former Soviet Union have been cultivating industrial hemp for years. A 1961 United Nations Single Convention Treaty specifically allows cultivation of cannabis for industrial purposes. and the more recent NAFTA and GATT international trade agreements recognize hemp as a valid agricultural crop. These internationa...

UNLABELLED BACKGROUND The study aims to determine the nutritional value of hemp seed expressed by the oil content and by the concentration of metals (Ca, Mg, K, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cd), for five varieties of monoecious and dioecious hemp seeds approved in Romania, comparative with the concentration of these metals in the soil. RESULTS The content of oil in hempseed registers a slight decrease i...
